ANNE CHOI
CELLO
Hello! My name is Anne Choi, and I am a third-year undergraduate nursing student at theUniversity of Calgary. I have been playing the cello and piano since I was about six years old. Asa former member of Mount Royal Conservatory’s Calgary Youth Orchestra and AcademyProgram for Young Artists, I am passionate about cello performance and have had opportunitiesto perform in several concerts and competitions.
My music journey began with piano, achieving level 8 RCM in both piano and theory. However, my musical passion expanded when I started learning the cello. Participating in annual festivals and programs with other musicians, I havehad the privilege of performing in diverse settings and accomplishing milestones in my journey. Some include reaching level 10 RCM, advancing to the final round of the Canadian MusicCompetition, and consistently earning gold awards every year that I participated in the CalgaryPerforming Arts Festival. As a young cellist, I always sought advice from upper-year musicians, learning from their experiences.
Now, as a music teacher, I strive to share my knowledge and love for music to other aspiring musicians and aid them in their musical journey. I believe that I can provide a supportive and nurturing learning environment that fosters confidence and growth, just as my teachers and peers did for me.
