ANA GONZALEZ
VIOLIN & THEORY
I was born and raised in Leon, Mexico. I have always been in love with the violin from a young age but I
didn’t have any formal training until the age of 14 when I moved to Canada and began my music studies
at the Mount Royal University Conservatory with Tobi Jurchuk. I was part of the Virtuosi Strings
program at Bishop Carroll High School and my musical career has flourished since. I have been part of
multiple music festivals including MusicFest where I was awarded the Stingray Emerging Artist Award,
Tuckamore Festival touring with my dearest friends across Newfoundland, and Prague Summer Nights
touring across Czech Republic with musicians from all over the world. In 2024 I attended the PRISMA
festival where I received orchestral training. I am now studying under Edmond Agopian’s guidance at
the University of Calgary where I am completing my Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance while
being a member of the first violin section of the UofC Orchestra and the Calgary Youth Orchestra.
